Once I hit the road, I intend to be working on craft projects outdoors.  I am looking at folding tables, which look okay.

The problem is what to sit on.  Working at a table leaning forward, many of the so-called 'camp chairs' are not suitable.  I have enough trouble with my back that I don't want to add to them.

Any suggestions?  Names?  Links?

What kind of vehicle are we talking about?  A van? Mini-van? Something bigger?

If you had the room, you could have a comfortable, non-folding, desk or kitchen chair.  Abit of plywood on the ground to keep the legs from sinking in and you would be all set.

Hi TrainChaser,

I purchased a GCI Outdoor Director's Chair almost 3 years ago. It's my primary outdoor seating when I'm on the road.

I like it because the seat doesn't sag like an umbrella chair, it has arms with little storage pouches. It's good for when I'm leaning forward at a table. It feels very sturdy and stable. It folds up small. But, it's heavier than the average umbrella chair.

In looking online, they don't currently make any that look exactly like mine, but here is a link to the closest newer model http://amzn.to/2dA0gBJ

Hope you find that helpful.

I use this folding chair. Nothing says you can't use them outside.

I like the director type chairs.  they have no plastic parts.

I hate director's chairs. The uprights for the back jab into me. And they're rickety. And the canvas rots.

There's a camp chair called a "Strongback" , more than 1 model too
Most comfy I've ever had the pleasure to sit in , great back support built in.
They are a little pricey but ...........................!!!!!

BradKW. That looks like something from the CIA enhanced interrogation catalog.

They have a catalog?  Damn, how can **I** get on that mailing list?!

Thanks! I didn't even know they still make those director chairs -- all I usually see are those saggy-bottom chairs for lounging around the campfire and drinking beer.

Okay! Now I have some direction when it's time to go shopping! I'll have to try them to make sure they're 'perfect'.

Bryan: I should have said: I'll be getting a van, and I have some arthritis in my lower back.
