i got a good deal on a 05 transporter ambulance.<br>auto transmission<br>2.5l engine<br><br>needs some work on the exterior, the fiberglass roof is slightly damaged and it got some dents and nicks in the body.<br>most of the interior is gone but a few cabinets and compartments survived. <br><br>the first thing on my list is removing all of the blue emergency lights and disconnect the sound thingy (don't now how its called in english) <br>removing all of the red/blue stickers and built in a bed and sink/stove so i can get my rv registration (cheaper tax wise) &nbsp; <br><br><img src="http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg706/scaled.php?server=706&amp;filename=535428a.jpg&amp;res=medium"><br><br><img src="http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg337/scaled.php?server=337&amp;filename=535428c.jpg&amp;res=medium"><br><br>so let me know what you think ^^<br><br>

Getting the stickers off is easy if you are careful you can use a heat gun, or strong hand held hair dryer, sometimes they will peel right off.
 
When you apply to change it to an RV do they require you to bring the vehicle in for inspection, so they can see the bed, sink and stove, or do you just have to show them pictures??? Pictures of the rebuild is all that's required in my state, I have a friend who converted a 26ft UHaul into a "toy hauler" all he did was take pictures of the bath room and sleeping area of a friends camper, showed them to the license&nbsp;bureau&nbsp;and they changed his registration to RV

no from the netherlands.<br>and yes i have to bring in the vehicle for inspection.<br><br>i just found out why it was so cheap. <br>turns out that the engine is running on 4 cilinders and the turbo needs a overhaul.<br><br>
 
I knew it was European ... Very cool!!!<div><br></div><div>Bummer about what you have to get done, but once finished that thing should run for a while before it needs more work again.</div><div><br></div>
 
Nice rig to start with. Good luck on the stickers, I bought an old service truck with a high cap on it that had the companys logo and phone number, etc. Heat gun made a gooey mess, chemical strippers didn't work either. Finally , I blasted it off with a 2700 psi pressure washer. Hope yours goes easier, keep us posted with pics. Wish they were available here!
 
Oh that has a lot of potential!&nbsp; Hope the mechanical stuff turns out to be a cheap fix.&nbsp; Also hope the stickers aren't too hard to get off.&nbsp; On a new project, the last thing you want to do is spend endless hours peeling, I'm sure.&nbsp; Keep the photos coming.<br><br>
 
i dont have a camera yet so i&nbsp; can't post pics of the inside.<br><br>but i talked to a vw specialist and he said that the entire front needs&nbsp; to be removed to work on the engine/remove the engine.<br>so that kinda sucks but i am hoping it is fixed by installing new glow plugs. <br><br>it is raining a lot so the stickers and the lights have to wait.<br>i have cut up a "workbench" to hold a small sink and stove.<br>and started on my fool the inspection guy bed.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
 
Leave most of the stickers, except the medical ones.

<div>Get a second quote,&nbsp;</div><div>also maybe find someone who is a real mechanic that has his own shop or a backyard mechanic. Say no rush, a month to fix and see what the compared price is then.</div>
 
I would leave the stickers on if it were me. I've sold several e350 news live vans to folks that we retired - most folks left the wrap on unless management insisted we remove the logos first.
