Hi HighDesertRanger
We try to get out to Az. and do a little metal detecting , we belong to the Havasu Gold Seekers and camp at there private campground 9 1/2 mi. out in the Mohave , there with 3800 acres of active gold claims another 3 1/2 mi. farther up Franconia Wash .
As to our mining sluice , we take it Birthday Parties , Small and Large Fairs , and Campgrounds .
It looks like this , without the big Inflatable ( Note- this is not ours )

I love Herkimer"s.......I make it a point every year to go to mine up there and spend a few days busting rocks for something to do.......I have a few customers that buy them for jewelry making.

I thought herkimer was my little secret!!!

Reno...Glad to hear you're up and running again.
Sounds like a good offer from Mike.

When we went up the Or coast last year at this same time we only hit rain 1 day up at Cape Kiwanda where Margie's brother's ashes were sent out to sea on his longboard. He was a noted surfer. The rain hid her tears as she remembered the day she sat on a board as her bro's spirit floated out into the waters he loved so much.
The only rain we experienced was a couple times up in Astoria during June.
It was perfect weather along the coast for our trip.

Ok, slight thread hijack here.

I used to be an armored car guard, back in the day.  It was fairly common for the companies to have a whole new frame put under one of the armored bodies when the old frame wore out.  I always assumed that the shops that did that kind of specialty work used a crane to lift the bodies on and off the frames.

How exactly does that work as a DIY project?  Did you rent a crane, somewhere?  Put a HiLift jack under each corner of the body?  You've got me curious.

Regards
John

Also , what are you going to do with the engine and trannee while your lifting the body off?

no crane needed. I have changed frames and bodies many of times. I have an A-frame hoist and lots of jacks. after all it's just a matter of bolts and wiring. highdesertranger

Yup!!

Not a problem for a shop or someone who knows what to expect.

Less than a day if you've got your stuff in place.

Mike, I found an experienced welder working for himself in NH, 5 miles away.  Told him I was concerned about the leaf spring perch om passenger side, and everything else was secondary.

Got it fixed while I waited. Also  repaired a hole on the drivers side frame. Total of $250.

Really glad to hear this. Happy Trails! :)

Update : I'm on my annual trip to Florida (3rd) and all I well. Nothing more has broken or fallen off, and the inspection sticker is current!

Me too. If nothing has broken or fallen off, life is good.
