Very cool build. I'd love to see the 4x4 conversion happen from the deuce parts. My old f350 7.3 4x4 got hit from behind while parked so I'm thinking about using the parts from that to convert a 7.3l shuttle bus to 4x4.

That would be very cool. If I had those parts around I'd do just that w/ our metro.

And I have been keeping an eye on Rockwell axles around here, . . . just in case he decides this isn't to far away to get one from ;)

And I appreciate it, they are not far off in my future! Still working on all the details of integrating the box and trucks electrical system

Added some metal today to close up the wheel well gays, still need to cut out the wheel opening.

Nice. Are you going to tie the wheelwell plates into the tailgate? Flow it all together?

Quick update, recycled the old ambulance wiring and switch panels. Installed a security system, and picked up a good used set of folding stairs for the side door...

Yes it is, I completely rewired the ambo half and spruced up the truck half to work with the new ambo wiring.

Installed the second battery in the generator compartment. It took way more time than I had expected to run another 1/0 cable and move all the supports around for the additional battery. It worked out in the end, just have to make a few battery cables.

This is one of my favorite threads of all time on van dweller forums! In the 90s I got it in my head that I wanted to live in an ambulance, but I never found the right one, or the right time. It's an intimidating project and you've done an amazing job. Very inspired. Every photo puts a huge grin on my face. Thanks for sharing.

I really appreciate the support in my build, one day I hope to document what life in an ambulance is like. All my coworkers say that it is creepy and think about how many people may have died in it. The reality is, this old ambo has saved my life. Rather than spending each day after work watching tv and drinking way too much alcohol, passing time till I pass away. I now plan, plot, and work on my ambo . It has become a hobby that will someday take me to see things I have only dreamed about seeing. I chose to build it so I would know how it went together and where all those wires go. I also carry mostly all of the tools needed to make road side major repairs. The entire shop manual set is stored in a pelican box onboard to aid in any repair! Ok now I am just rambling, thanks again for your comment!

Stick with that plan, it sounds like a winner.
