Making money with your smartphone photos

I just learned of an app for iOS and Android called foap. You upload your original photos, and they go into the marketplace priced at $10 a pop. For every sale, you get $5. Sounds like it was made for mobile living.

Probably thousands per day and they deserve it for coming up with and developing such a great idea.

If there are buyers, I'd support it and use it. Takes the 'marketing' out of the photog's hands. But I just wonder what percentage of sales one could expect? Hopefully the guy running this has his fingers into many good markets. And of course, the photog needs to make sure his/her pics are good quality and of interest to potential buyers. Many typical 'vacation' scenes have been photoed to death. Need to take something great that hasn't been saturated.

Nothing new about this.  Microstock photography has been around for a number of years.
