SternWake: I knew exactly what you were saying and suspected something similar took place with this incident.

Once we were talking with neighbors in the alley, a man came walking down the alley and joined in the conversation. He looked at my husband and said "Do you know who I am?" and my husband being local told the man "I don't think I remember you." and the man said "I'm Jesus." Now, it was quite obvious from his manner that he truly believed this so we all started stepping back toward our houses and ended the chat. How did I know it wasn't Jesus? I just had a pretty good feeling. Never saw the man again. It pays to pick up on the state of mind of anyone you don't know that well and definitely don't try to mess or make fun of people or their ways. It doesn't make it your fault if they murder/assault you but you are fanning the fires. One should try to increase their chances of success in interacting with others.

Any time you indicate that the victim incited the attack you are giving the bullies of the world a free pass. I apologize for the remark--it should not have been personalized but just made as a general comment.

Took a quick look at the criteria for the death penalty in TX, he would qualify since he took a life of a child under 10 years of age.  Also, under possible things like killing them during a robbery which I still think he was after something there.  So, he should go down, at least 6 feet if found guilty, you know, due process.  I think the whole town will be feel more at ease when this guy is 6 feet under.

Sometimes the nicest thing you can say about some people is that they are probably biodegradable.

Well.....I certainly didn't mean to stir up animosity and hard feelings with my original post.Just advising to remain aware of your surroundings and take care.My apologies to all.Hey Gypsy,I'll bet that Jesus guy would have had some great stories about the Roman Empire.I'm wondering about Christians wearing a cross on a chain around their neck.If Jesus came back, you would think a cross would be the last thing he would want to see.

I hate and despise fear-mongering, it infuriates me.

There are real dangers out here, I've stared down many bears, rattlesnakes and even a mountain lion, but being scared of a real danger is normal and healthy and exactly how humans were born to live--and to die. When that mountain lion was deciding if I was going to live or die, I thought to myself, "Today is a very good day to die. At least I can get a picture of him as he's doing it" Fortunately, just as I got the camera out he decided to leave.

The great majority of the people in this country are huddling in their homes in fear and that's the lunacy that scares me. That's exactly the opposite of how humans were born to live. It breeds stress and 10,000 times more Americans are going to die from stress caused disease than from crime or natural dangers.

Lunacy breeds more lunacy and its only going to get much worse. I'm trying to do what tiny little bit I can to fight it and work against the tide--it just really pisses me off when this forum is used to contribute to it.

Amen Bob! Stress KILLS. This is exactly why this lifestyle appeals to me and many others. Though the fear of being a victim of a terrorist, or some 2 bit bi-ped predator is pretty low on my list.

That is a good size cat. I am glad it decided not to attack you. Where did you encounter it?
