Hello everybody,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been visiting the site for a long time and reading lots of very interesting posts, but never had the decency (LOL) to say hi, which I do now.

The posts and discussions are very interesting and informative and that is what really makes this site a great place to learn and enjoy. I would like to thank all the contributors for their comments, and also the askers, whose questions I myself have. Of course, a huge “thank you” to Mr. Bob Wells, for everything he has done for this wonderful community, his videos, writings, and enthusiasm.

As to me, I am a 69 year old retiree who lives in beautiful Washington State, and have a 1994 Pickup Ford F150, single cab and manual transmission, with a raised canopy, which I intend to build a little bit to do some boondocking, probably both, urban and traditional, although I know, I will always need and have a solid home base.

My cab has a nice back window which opens enough for me to crawl into the canopy, which is connected to the cab by means of a boot, all of which will be very useful for this purpose.

Thank you again to all of you for this great site.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Wandering Primate! Glad you decided to join us! Hope you can head south to Arizona for the RTR in January. :)

Love your username, Wandering Primate, made me smile LOL

Sounds like you have a nice setup to get up and go quickly and enjoy a nice boondock trip.
Have fun making some small modifications as you like to make everything comfy!

Enjoy your adventures!

Thank you, guys, for your nice welcoming words.

Very soon I will be contributing to this site, most probably with just questions, since at this point I am only a wannabe, although many of the questions I had have already been asked by other site members, and the proper responses posted.

I am looking forward to enjoying this site!

Welcome!! Haha, great profile name!
I hope to eventually install an accordion boot and sliding back glass as well. Sometimes I wonder about how much longer I'll be able to climb my big carcass in and out of the window though. :)

Thank you, MaTaLa!

I think the key is to never stop doing it for as long as you can. The longer the period you don't do it, the harder it becomes to do it again.

The same thing happens with cold showers, which I have been doing all summer. The parts of your body that you keep under the water don't feel the cold of the water that bad, but those parts that have been out of the water, to lather, for instance, once you put them back in, are the ones that feel the "thermal shock", so to speak.

The more surface of your body you keep out of the cold water spray, the worse you experience the cold once you put it back in. So, while you lather, keep as much surface of the rest of your body in the water as you can, in order to keep as much of your skin as possible at the temperature of the water.

At the end, you don't even want to turn the water off, you really enjoy being in the cold water.

OK, enough of cold showers.  :)
