Since late February 2019, I have been living in my 2016 Minnie Winnie from Arizona to Florida to Central NY. This is what i have been learning about since i was a kid and the experience these days is, well, very satisfying.
I have family and friends here and the summers just make sense. Despite the rain and chilly weather since the first week in March (I am not a winter cold kind of creature),I've been fortunate to have been invited to several free parking spots.
Thank you Mr and Mrs Parks for the use of your driveway, but to be asking you to move your vehicles so I can get out, seems much to inconvenient for you. I do like the camp on Tughill. I would go there again.

My brother keeps his RV at home in his driveway and parking on the street in front of his house looks like the start of a really nice RV park ?. Thankfully Marcus has lived in this location for more than 30 years and has established himself with a career. But right up the street is Syracuse Camping World and as a Good Sam member, you can 2 or 3 overnights in the parking lot including free dump, potable water and propane.
Locally, I enjoy a filling breakfast from time to time at the cottage, the finest restaurant in all the land. Lol.

So I'm preparing for leap day, to the south and west to escape old man winter.

Sounds like nice set up.

Hey Mike......good meeting you this winter ……….Enjoy your summer and we'll see you again in the desert...…..doug

Likewise my brother. Thank you for your help with the bad starter. It was just what headache needed. I'm glad she is on her way.
See ya in the fall!

Good to hear from you, Mike! Glad you're enjoying your new digs.

I'm still in NV, waiting on the new hip. Just another week or so. I expect to be driving through NY sometime late august, early September. I'll keep you posted.

Take good care!

The sun is shining bright this Saturday am and its dry here in upstate N.Y..
Taste of Syracuse continues this weekend.
I'm comfortably parked at my brothers house.
Oh, I'm so glad to hear from you Cyndi! Godspeed on the new hip. (You are the hippest already)

I changed my genset oil yesterday, my engine oil and filter the day before. I found a water leak at my hot water heater. It has rained nearly every day for months and for the second day, it's been warm and dry. Thankfully I was able to repair it.

My goodness! I reread my posting and there you were! Tony and Karen!
So good to hear from you two. Karen, you are an inspiration. Thank you.
I got itchy feet today and loaded up and went south to Bainbridge, N.Y. to a little town owned park with water and electric, a gravel, fairly level camping spot right next to the Susquahanna river. As a member of passport America, you get to stay for $12.50 a day! Yeah!
So I am kicking back in my camping chair waiting for the car show tomorrow. Geeze, am I the luckiest guy or what?

By the way, I favor free camping but the NE is far and few between for them.

Nice to know that you're out & about again!
Till we next meet. [emoji106]

I'm back in my free parking spot in front of my brothers house. I get good tv and cell signal here. My brother and I will be making repairs on 2 riding lawnmowers. He is younger than me and I taught him everything I know. Lol.
This week I am preparing to motor west between Syracuse and Rochester to stay at the del largo casino parking lot. I will be a bit closer to my three boys and grandkids for a father's day extravaganza.

Good morning!
After a delightful weekend with my children and grandchildren, I have made preparations to hit the road. Checked my cold tire pressures, good, engine oil and other fluid levels, good. A quick walk around to check all my lights and compartment doors, good. Lock down and store things inside. Good.
From rochester i headed east to a place called Sodus Point. Google maps shows a park and beach on the shores of Lake Ontario.
Upon arrival, a quick recon of the area and its time for breakfast. Nice.

Sounds like a great life :) happy you are out and about and hope your recon shows good things in the area for ya!

I am holed up for nearly a week now at a very large truckstop in Waterloo, NY. Just down the street is Del Largo casino and I switch parking between the two. Its free.
I get good over the air tv and full verizon cell signal bars for my phone and tablet. I also have netflicks to pass the time.
This truckstop has seperated parking lots, one for tractor trailer trucks and one for rv and passenger cars and trucks. It can be very quiet and so far im not disappointed.
I have found time to repair my hot water heater and relish the hot water for dishes, instant coffee, hot chocolate and of course, my showers. I can run my generator to charge my house batteries, use the microwave and A/C.
Life is good and im still amazed at the amenities i have living on the road.
Next week is payday and will go into town for supplies and laundry with a stop at the library to use my laptop on the internet. My android tablet uses verizon unlimited cell network and is handy to stay connected.
Its still raining here in central NY and most campgrounds are full, but im comfortable parking here for free for now.

You sound very content, glad it’s working for you! :)

I have made the decision to get an early start on my migration south. Im heading for Texas to become a resident, well, i mean ill be an official texan. I have lived here before when i was young, in fact, i entered the army when i lived in Maypearl, not far from Waco.
Once im all set up, I will consider the Oregon Get Together with Nelda and Jerry. Ill be sure to let her know beforehand if i can make it.
I pulled over at a rest area in Ohio to eat, drink and sleep.
Goodnight all.

You may want to postpone your Texas visit until summer is over. Even getting to 90 in Amarillo. Down here in houston the heat index has been 105+ for a few days (miserable). Dumas, TX has a free campground with electricity if that works for you.

Thanks Brian, i just want to establish my residency and then head west.
