10 years ago we stayed at a Colorado KOA and it rained and rained and was muddy as heck.  Ever since then I have packed my rainboots in my camping gear and they are packed already for our upcoming fulltime.  Wayne doesn't have any yet but they are on the list before we leave.  They wash off easy and are a big plus as one might guess looking at today's RTR vids.  Surplus stores often have them out of season when you can't find them anywhere else.  I guess fishing boots would work as well, etc.

So even if I didn't use them for 10 years had I been at the RTR a lot of folks would be jealous of my old not yet worn out boots.

Gardening boots, Crocs, worn out footwear you don't mind messing up...

Or just stay inside and wait it out. What's the rush? You do have a key to turn. I do carry a set of waders but I keep them in the basement area and that requires being out in the elements. My hiking boots work well if needed (they are waterproof).

Get a pair of "overshoes". They are a lot lighter and easier to pack than rain boots. Overshoes is an accurate description of what they do, they stretch over your shoes to protect them from mud and water. They used to be very commonly available in department stores but nowadays you might have to mail order them. Cost is around $20.00 to $30.00.

Your father or grandfather or mother or grandmother likely had a pair at one time or another.

something similar, but more rugged (and more expensive) can still be readily found in farm and ranch type store. they are intended to go over work boots and run around $50-60 last time i bought a pair. la crosse was the brand i had usually

I think we had these as kids.
Vans are just turn the key.  Sometimes we will have the trailer unhitched or just need to bring stuff in and walk around the campsite before leaving.  So if it's muddy I don't want to mess up my good shoes so rainboots or snowboots or overshoes or waterproof hikers as long as I can clean them easy and keep the mud out of my rig.  As it is I carry a portable rectangle water bowl about 4" high and have to wash 8 paws sometimes when the dogs come in before they can roam free.  8 snowboots also when needed.  I'm looking for some desert worthy boots for our upcoming venture so I'll have them if it's a glassy or thorny area.
