I'm sitting in my truck, on my laptop, courtesy of free internet access from Lowes. 2 hrs. worth. Now I just have to figure what I need to recharge in my truck! A pocket inverter? And a different charger for my phone? Not too savvy on this stuff.

Question: Do most, if not all, Lowes have wifi that you can access when parked in their parking lot?

Yah only one flaw Lowe's is bad for people they will hire locals but never really give them a job. When you reach a a certain hours of work they switch you out so you do never get that 40 hour week at which they need to step up and pay into your stuff keeping you a temp forever. No health no benefits just cheap labor. I avoid them if I can. We are all together.

All retailers and those who pay minimum wage short their employees of a full 40 hours, so they do not have to pay more in insurance and benefits. All.

I love lowes too - I always shop there as opposed to other hardware stores.

I found it mentioned somewhere else here about Lowes have free net access. So I guess it is a policy of theirs.
Most companies don't give full time. They don't want to pay benefits.

I don't shop at Home Depot because of some of their policies. Love Lowe's! As far as employees are concerned...they are just doing what it takes to stay competitive. I'm sure here shortly, if not already, that they will do what most everyone else is doing and drop employees down to under 30 hours to avoid healthcare penalties.

Every Lowe's I've been in has had wifi...with no need to ask for the password! That's kind of brave of them since I can take my tablet in and comparison shop the internet while looking at a product on their shelves. It hadn't occurred to me to use their wifi in the parking lot! What a great idea!

Home Depot has free WiFi too. Another benefit is that you can do repairs (within reason) in the parking lot and if you need something the parts are just steps away. We've stayed overnight at both Lowes and Home Depot without any problems.

The lowes near me is heavily patrolled by police, I do not know why. I was waiting to load a lawn tractor and one pulled around and just stared at me from the parking lot. Maybe people hang out in the loading zone too much? Its a huge speed trap/ticket farm area though, so that could be why, looking for more revenue? Not a good option for me (tho i have family near there anyway i can stay at if i had to).

Home Depot has decided that the customer is less important to them!!! No Tile cuts period, LOWES all day long free!!! Home depot wont cut lumber other than 1 cut per sheet, LOWES will cut what ever you want to a sliver with a smile!!!! No Precision cuts at Home depot and they were 1 inch off with perfect lines drawn in black marker with arrows, told Manager and he said no precision cuts so I left it there!! Lowes lazer to 1/32 and I ripped 4 x8 sheets as trim at 4". These are the 2 big ones for me and I wont ever spend another dime in their stores. Lowes is the bomb and prices are in line or better than Home Depot.

I show Office Depot to be unsecured as well! I have within walking distance, Lowes, Office Depot, Walmart. Across the street is Home Depot. All I need is an unsecured shower now! LOL
It didn't occur to me to drive around and see who is unsecured. I doubt many would broadcast the news.

Some parks have unsecured showers where they have a beach Might not be hot tho...

Just about any Florida beach access with a changing area has showers, generally not hot though. But who wants hot in the summer.

On the fishing piers, where you pay to go out on the pier to fish, will have showers generally before the point you pay.

At the Lovebug wash downs, at rest stops, you could stand in front of the water with your clothes on and get a cool down shower.

I prefer Lowes as well. I have worked in Home Depots. You are lucky if you get somebody that knows. The only companies that do not cut hours are ones that ship things 24/7 like warehouses, truck drivers, and any job in the energy sector. The retail economy will keep getting worse.

I have showered in sprinklers in parking lots. Takes some planning, but its very high pressure and very cold water!

I'm in the desert, no beaches around here! lol
I do have to admit I have looked longingly at the automatic sprinklers for the shrubs and so called trees here! The public pools here have showers, $4 for residents & $5 for non or buy a 25 visit pass for $60/$75. Most everything I need is within a 5 mile radius.
I'm exploring what all I can plug into my cig lighter and how big of a battery I should get to withstand it all. I want/NEED a portable swamp cooler to plug into it. I'm melting. It's still mid 90s at midnight. Yikes.

I would consider a separate deep cycle house battery...running anything prolonged off the ciggy is gonna end badly. You can get them at sams club for under 200.
