It showed up on my laptop today so I thought I'd share.  Seems like a really simple way to get a cute camper for not a lot of money.  You supply the utility trailer, go to their location, they drop a camper shell on it for you.  Says $995 for the shell so that is probably the 4x8 trailer model.  I'll guess $1200 for the largest size but that is only a guess.  Now price a trailer on craigslist and I'd say for about $2000 you could have an interesting camper shell to decorate and equip the inside as you can afford it.  Pretty light weight so just about any car could pull it except for the really tiny ones.

This website is were you can get information about the camper shell about a third of the way down.  I'll guess it does not come with windows but it has the cutout locations for them and how ever many you want.  It almost looks like a pop up on top too you'd have to contact the distributor for more information.

Farther down is the PULMOR SOLAR POWER TRAILER. That might be of interest to those of you in a van or RV. Hard to navigate the website, though. Takes a bit of time and is a bandwidth hog.

thats unique. I like the idea but the execution of it in that photo is not at all attractive. I looked at the website (they could really use a webmaster) but no photos of the interior.

I'm guessing it is just that tan'ish plastic shell with no windows. Might call them in the next few days and see if I can get a brochure I can scan.

That one in your picture looks like a camper some company used to sell (see link below, they are awesome), that company went out of business I think, those were fairly expensive.  The ones on the web site linked are no where near this quality.  However, the ones on the linked website are cool, and inexpensive! I really like the pulmor trailers!

I dunno man....not the one pictured above, but the ones on the website....kinda look like a rolling dumpster...

:-/

It looks to be made of vinyl or ABS but I can see potential with it.   I can also see it painted in camo or OD if one were to boondock in the woods.   Or even parked there and set on a platform as a Tiny Home.  It would be more resistant to the weather than a lot of those wooden "shebangs" (mini barns or utility buildings) you see so over priced  on the roadside lots.

I could also see one of those on one of these.

Thus making a Shanty Boat for anyone who would want to live on the water.    There are plenty of old
pontoon boats which look like the above serving as floating boat docks now.  From time they show up on Craig's List.   You may meet fewer LEO's on the water if that's an issue and staying in one place for awhile is appealing.

I followed this for some time, and it is actually trying to make a comeback under what I think is new ownership. If I remember correctly, they were pricey, maybe around $8,000 with the interior stuff: https://www.quitelite.com/pre-production/tail-feather/# The sections have "gaskets" that seal them together. I always wondered just how aerodynamic that shape would be. The looks? Cute and ugly at the same time! With a "knock off", my concern would be how well they would fit and seal.

God that's got to be **the** worst website design I've ever seen, including from my 3rd - 6th grade HTML students in the mid 90's.

But yes in theory interesting, too bad the products look almost as ugly as the website.

And YUPPIE as a brand name? Who do they think that would appeal to?

Yes, I'm being obnoxiously judgmental but really, some design/marketing common sense really is important even for stuff being targeted to ordinary people.

Apologies in advance if anyone here is involved

The website looks like something out of a 60's Popular Mechanics.  The enclosures don't look like they would stand up too well in the southwestern United States.  They look really flimsy to me.

Interesting, but unless they're widespread their appeal will be limited....

Looks like an oversized portapotty but if it gets you on the road, why not?
