We just bought a travel trailer, GMC diesel 3/4 ton pickup, and are getting ready to retire and set out on a now adventure.  I have a question for you experienced folks.  What do you do with your time when you are camping?  I understand how the driving is fun and setting up/taking down is fun, but what do you do the rest of the time?  As you can see, I'm not sure what I'll do with myself after I retire.

Welcome RevDen to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. what to do with your free time? I don't know, what do you like to do? I prospect keeps me busy. it really just depends on you, got any hobbies you could take on the road? highdesertranger

I enjoy reading, hiking, photography, and surfing the web. I actually have 4 boxes of books that I carry around so I've always got something to interest me. Maybe one day I'll get an electronic reader device but until then, boxes of books for me! LOL

What would you do with your time if you were at home instead of traveling?

Workcamping jobs of the "campground host" type might be a good thing to look at...would give you a destination and some light structure while you get your bearings. Many of these jobs are "jobs" in name only, minimal work required.
