Maybe. But many years ago, our neighbor started doing that after the fabric roof of his convertible was cut. They still cut the top the next time, with the doors unlocked.
And.... "Are there short term rentals available in those locked storage areas?"
You usually rent the spot by the month, but they won't shoot you if you take it out after a few days. Just don't expect any money back.
