Has anyone figured out how to insure the personal items in a vehicle that you live in? (Toyota sienna mini camper in my case.) I’m talking about all the non-factory personal stuff that would fall out if a giant picked up your vehicle and shook it. Homeowners and renters insurance often cover personal stuff stolen from your car but what if you don’t own or rent a house?

Thanks!?

But how can you get renters insurance if you aren’t renting? Would it work to list my sons address?

Renters insurance is for people who don't own a house. They don't care if you actually rent. Just don't tell them you live in your vehicle. Most auto insurance companies offer renters insurance.

Personal contents coverage.

Here is a good article at Escapees website:

https://www.escapees.com/7-things-you-need-to-know-about-rv-insurance/

As a side note, Escapees has supported, advocated for, and educated about all things RV for a long, long time. I am an Escapee and the organization has not steered me wrong once. The information on the website is searchable and relaible.

As for insuring a self-converted van, this blog post may be helpful:
