Hello Everyone!

So, currently I'm living in a traditional home but I've always been more of a minimalist and all the space and possessions just feel ironically possessive. I intend to be car homeless soon, eventually (hopefully somewhat quickly) transitioning into a van. I've travelled quite a bit over the years, seen every coast and most of the states in between. I've been homeless before, albeit under less than desirable conditions, so I definitely understand the obstacles and difficulties that come with it. There are things I still need to learn about this way of life if I'm going to make it a full-time choice though, so I will be around, reading and asking questions!

Welcome, get a passport while you still have a physical address, it will make things easier.

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

If I had a more flexible timeline I would but, If I tried to get one now I'm afraid it would be lost in the wind when I move.

If your state offers a real ID type license then do that. Meeting real ID requirements may cause you to have to a physical residence in the future causing you some grief, just saying. There are solutions but starting out if you can it is easier.

I have a valid Texas DL with real id and valid LTC already (lived there before and never changed out my ID's when I moved out of state   ) but they both have the address of an apartment that I don't live in anymore. Am I doing better than I thought? I was under the impression that I was going to have a hard time proving current residence to get those updated.
I'm sure I come across as a dunce. I'm so much better at working with my hands than I am at understanding/jumping through bureaucratic hoops  :s

You are doing good, Escapees will help you get it all straightened out. Changing an address within the state should be easier than coming from out of state in my opinion.
