Hello to Bob and everyone. I'm looking to go full time within the next month out of both need and want (after watching countless videos) ; however, I am still stuck.

I am disabled and do not have much to start (around the safety blanket ballpark) and will not get much per month. But that's ok, I'm just lost as how to start as everything I see is not affordable. I can't physically do the conversions nor can I pay someone properly. I also do not have a van, just an 01 Mitsubishi Mirage that does not start  :(

If anyone knows someone selling anything somewhat or fully converted I think that would help. Just trying to get something usable and on the cheaper side. Air conditioning is a must for health reasons.

Anyway, about me...  I keep to myself, Quiet unless you can get me talking, I enjoy helping others, I also hate asking, so this was hard to type out. Great with computers, and electronics. I'm completely content with being on a computer most of the day (as this is how I pass the time); no idea how that could even work in the middle of nowhere...

And a million other things, but I'll keep it short.

I hope to meet everyone and become part of this wonderful community. :shy:

Thank you

Hi!

You may be able to get started as a nomad without much money by teaming up with another nomad who has the funds, wants to start their adventure, yet doesn't want to do it solo.  You could be a good companion and perhaps share the driving on long trips, share funny stories, cook your favorite chili recipe, act as a private tour guide at locations you're familiar with, etc.

Since you're great with electronics, you might be able to fix other RVers' broken electronics or build something that improves the electronic gear they already own.  You could earn money with your skills or trade your fix-it services for the items and construction labor you need to build an awesome van in the future.

See this Youtube video to figure out how to find free campsites with cell signals to connect to the internet, even when you're in the middle of nowhere.

Good luck!

"You may be able to get started as a nomad without much money by teaming up with another nomad who has the funds..."  This would be most interesting to me, but not a clue where to start on that. I don't Facebook or have friends in Florida.

"...you might be able to ... to build an awesome van in the future." Hopefully yes, but I'd do that for free

"See this ... free campsites" - That was awesome, never seen that all in one spot!:)

Thanks you for the response this was awesome.

Post a message in the Matters of the Heart sub-forum offering your services as a traveling companion.  Mention that you're an electronics expert who could advise them on upgrading the electronics on their rig, or even help them upgrade.  List other skills or hobbies you have that could enhance the travel experience.  You can mention that you're disabled, but you don't have to post your limitations online.  If you wish, that info can be shared with only those who are interested in PMing you to travel with you.

Of course, but consider fair trades:  they get what they need (such as a boosted cell phone signal) and you get what you need (such as insulation for your van).
