Hi,

I have had my van since February and taken a few trips in it about 850 miles one way and a return trip. I am thinking of driving it to San Fransisco in November and I am wondering if anyone else is planning a trip there. I am going for medical treatment and wondering if there is anyone else I can connect with who maybe traveling from TN to San Fransisco, or along the way, in the beginning of November or end of October.

I have a 2000 Dodge 1500 Ram conversion van by Jayco.I have taken the middle seats out and the back seats have an electric button that turns them into a bad. I have a Jetboil and a cheap stove for cooking. I want to save for a Genesis stove. I have a buddy heater and hot pockets. There are expensive but worth it. I am also thinking of buying a tent. I have a tiny portable washing machine for clothes, a decent cooler, and plenty of storage. It isn’t a high top but I don’t mine for now. I don’t have solar but might want it in the furture. I have to extra batteries for my bipap machine - sleep Apena. I also have extra parts, tools, and fluids in the back. I am going to find a cabinet or build one for the sink, stove, and cooking. I am creating an emergency kit.

Thanks,

Terri

Welcome to the CRVL forums Terri! Sounds like have prepared really well for a cross country trip. The only other things I would suggest if you haven't done them already, are to get the van checked by a mechanical and to build up your emergency fund. When you decide on your route and your travel days you might want to post again. Members who are still stationary and can't take a long trip may want to meet up for a meal or a few days of camping.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Thank you, for the help in learning the rules. I have an emergency fund and just had the van looked out and some parts replaced.

Thanks for the help.
