I'm a 51 Y/O male and I've been lurking on here for a little bit. I am toying with dropping off the grid and living/travelling in a van for a period ( maybe short, maybe long term). I appreciate all of the ideas that I've seen here and hope to implement a lot of them as I put together my own "dwelling". I have yet to decide on which way to go, I love this forum as it will likely eliminate a lot of mistakes that I would make on my own. I will post progress on my project when I finally get started.

Cheers

Welcome Yooper. That is so funny, what does it stand for? Well, we're glad your here and I wish you the best of luck on your new journey.

Not sure of Yooper is one of "da yoopers" and I hope he replies, but those who live in Upper Michigan are called Yoopers which apparently is a Sweedish/Norweigan way of saying Upper. Yoopers are a comedy group about those who live in the U.P.(Upper Penninsula) of Michigan.

I raised by girls in Northern Michigan (unbelievably beautiful) and spent much time in the U.P. "Da Yoopers" CD is very funny, especially if you're a hunter and kinda backwoods yourself.
