Has been kept only (except for a one-month trip to Florida) in Desert Southwest-no salt exposure and never any rust. There have been NO mechanical/maintenance issues/problems.
We converted this van originally for full-time living for the two of us. Then Hubby built his own NV2500 conversion for his own traveling. After two years we have ended up exclusively using his van for our wanderings, leaving this van unused (and still making payments on it!). It is obviously a home-built conversion, but we spared little expense on most items.
The two group 27 100ah batteries are 3 years old. The third developed a short and has been removed, but the current batteries run the fridge and electronics easily multiple nights with the existing solar panels. When the batteries are replaced you can add back the third battery into its existing dedicated box

which detailed much of the build "New camper conversion in Tucson" in the conversions forum (I'm DesertTed) . Lots of photos but you have to register to see them. There are plenty of posts with pix that I've made here on CRVL regarding modifications on both vans.
