How so do I get started? Am 63 yrs young fixed income. But am in MD like to live in my car. In TX or AZ.  Problem how do I get out there?  Cant drive that far.  What do people do after they get rid of every thing they own?  If you have no home to go back to? Love seeing women doing this alone. Like to touch base with any one that can answer some of my questions.  Thank You God Bless you 1 and all

How far can you drive? Divide that into the distance to TX or AZ and take your time.

You don't have to get there in one day.

I would guess that most of the people on this board drive a few to several hours a day. Two hours? There's no law against that.

MD to AZ = about 2,300 miles. Drive 2 hrs a day at 60 mph (120 miles per day) would take you about 20 days. Could you do that? There aren't any prizes offered for speed. Take it easy and enjoy the change in scenery.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Karen! I moved your post out of the Pets and into the Newcomers. Welcome! Tell us a little more about your plans. A lot of us will be going to Arizona soon and you are welcome to join us!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Maybe you start by thinking, okay, I have some limitations, but here are some things I CAN do. Maybe those things will get you closer to the goal of living happily out of your car. Maybe you take short trips and practice necessary skills. Maybe you research places near you to camp and boondock. Maybe you practice being out there, alone, with only the necessities, or learning what you can do that you didn't think you could. Maybe you mark off a space in your home the size of your car and try living within it. Maybe you research resources out there that benefit someone like you. Maybe you put out feelers here for someone who might be a mentor or travel companion. Sometimes hitting the road is the last step.

Welcome to the forum. Check out the thread “calling all nomads in the east”. You may take the time to catch up and camp with some of us to get to know us before you head west. Just a suggestion and again welcome.
