Great info guys, I like the price of that domestic fridge. Is it an energy guzzler?

4 amps when compressor's on, cycling % depends on temp diff, venting etc.

Say 30-50AH per day to be conservative.

It's "Dometic", also make Waeco, thus also Max Burton.

I believe make / use a version of the Danfoss compressor

Turning the fridge off at night is not a great idea.

It takes more energy to cool it back down than if one had left it continue maintaining a safe food temperature. (sub 40f)

I am not full time at the moment, and living at altitude I travel mostly in cooler temps.  It is my thought to use the Dometic as a freezer, with a back up igloo marine (a great value) using Dometic maintained ice.  I am figuring out my panel upgrade now.  That's definitely a good point to wait until later in the day to plug everything in.  I feel comfortable testing things out.  I will report.
