Someday I would Like to sit around a campfire and listen to one of Liv's Tales. Quite articulate and entertaining.

I'm gonna start selling tickets for Liv's show. Got to monetize my lifestyle somehow.

Got my van yesterday. Plan on heading out end of month or mid October. I am bringing a sweet stick (non walking) My daughter in law found on the shore. She didn't mention a disheveled, eerie old man. The stick is quiet unusual as if it has it's own spirit. Kinda has a wizard face in the knot. I might bring to a campfire but will not touch the fire with it.

I think that's great, 1/2. I still have my first walking cane.  My mother gave it to me when I was 12. It's carved with all sorts of animals- a deer, a horse, an alligator, an elk, an Amarillo, a dog and a Lone Star. But the best carving is the date '1907'. I have taken wherever in the world we lived and I have it with me, now.

Touch the fire. Everything will be fine.

1907 Awesome. Lone Star represent Texas or individual? It is great to have such a memorable, and endearing heirloom. Starting to cool off here in the PNW. Getting Antsy to leave, but so much to do. Rain will start, come October. Have a couple of missions to do on my travels. Have to get the rig outfitted and inspected by Highway Patrol before I can license it as a RV. Have to get to Minnesota to see a nephew and then to Texas to see my sister. After that not sure where to head to, but alas I have nothing but time.

Wielding a good staff while out hiking should keep a lot of unseemly characters at bay, living or skeletonized.

(Liv, you should checkout jamie's build party in November if nearby).

Q- Is there information about the van-build somewhere on the Web? Thank you...

1/2- Texas! My mother gave me the cane in San Antonio.

Vans and busses and everything else, I imagine. Somewhere near Parker AZ this time. Last year it was near Lake Havasu City, and they were forced to move a couple of times, because some of that land is "State Trust" land and has special requirements in regards groups.

(Carry that staff like you mean it, and the Grey Man will stay away. Show him you're just as mean as he is).

If you decide you need 400W of solar in your rig, that's kind of jamie's specialty. Crimping wires as thick as your thumb.

(put a big lead weight on the end of your staff).

I just purchased the panels. It came complete. Renogie.

I am going for 900 to 1200 watts solar. I am installing a 9000 btu mini split A/C and induction stove. Also installing a minimum of 60 gallons of water. Getting new wheels and tires on Snow Bunny Monday. Tuesday I get the vehicle A/C repaired. Spent most of today Planning placement of Shower, Sink , Stove, Fridge and bed. Had a gnawing to go in Snow Bunny for the weekend with just a cot, cook stove, etc. for a trial. But have too much to do. Did I mention I am a recently retired Aircraft Mechanic. I will do the build myself except for items that require specialized tools. I have too many tools as it is. I want Snow Bunny to look nice and reflect who I am.

P.S. I suck at decorating, Doing the walls, Ceiling and Floor. My wife was most excellent at it, she knew me. Doesn't help being fully color blind.

Good plan, but I think you should still do short 1-2 trips as you build. Helps to get away from the usual daily chores, then all you have to do is think about what to do next. Try things out each step along the way before they are totally cast in concrete. After my first real trip of 6-weeks traveling in the van, I completely reorganized the layout.

The entire build revolves around bed size and placement, so that's a good thing to start with, and a good time to go out for a couple of days and test it out after it's built.

I will do that in between waiting for parts and loose ends that I have to take care of.  Have to get snow bunny in safe enough condition to venture out a couple of hundred miles. I can build the bed in one day. I measured everything out for the whole build. I am building it so i will not need a trailer, and at the same time meet all my needs. I wish I could attach a picture. Don't think there is another van like it. Got to have my shower.

I do minimalism, so don't need all niceites in my van, and the only thing I actually miss is a hot shower every morning. Of course to add that would require hightop, 3X the batteries and solar, plus big water tanks. So it's use a wash basin at night and grab a shower somewhere every few days.

After a year or whatever on the road, Caravan Carolyn was discussing her dream van, namely hightop and extended, plus at least 300W of solar, mainly for a bigger frig+freezer, as she cooks most of her meals. But you and Liv can go first class with all that solar.

The solar I have is a Renogy suitcase. I haven't used it, yet but I thought it might come in handy. I, too, would like a kitchen. I love to cook. For now, I have a Jet Boil which works fine but yea, I miss baking. We'll see.
