...does the fact that this lifestyle resonates with me indicate that I have Gypsy Blood in my veins? (Gypsies as you may know were the enslaved Israelites that left Egypt in the mass exodus spoken of in the Bible, as well as other historical records, that lasted over 40 years!)

    Please advise,

Welcome Joe to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Genetic testing not necessary. We'll take anyone who is or wants to be a dweller and on the road. I am a part timer, and on my second rig in recent memory, altho in the olden days there were others. Welcome Joemark, we would love to hear what you are doing today and the weather report for your area (in "Good Morning). Lots of good information specific to doing a build or adapting what you now have so it is comfy dwelling. Find links to camping resources in "Life on the Road - Gatherings and Boondocking threads, as well as in the reviews area.   ~crofter

The story in my family is my paternal great grandparents were Romany gypsies roving through eastern Europe. An aunt doing family research in the 1970s found the notebook the group had to keep. In it was permissions to enter towns, where to set up, what they could do, and when they had to leave. They found their way to Central Texas and great grandpa was known for raising the best mules and horses around. Would love to get my hands on that notebook.

...Thanks for the warm welcome and glad to meet you all, I've been living in a fifth wheel most of the time for the last 7 years while working around Texas and recently separated from the company and now looking into park hopping around the state for a while in explore mode.
We will see what that brings and let you know the highlights, if there are any.
One thing I can warn you about; NEVER leave a hose hooked up to the sewer flush. No matter what. Use it and unhook it without fail.

Happy Trails

Definitely get one of the DNA test that show the percentage of geographic origin data. You will be thrilled if it proves to be true. Of course sometimes family stories just have a romantic spin that is based on wishful thinking.
