So started to look for trucks. Found a pretty Toyota Tundra truck. Made an offer that is around the KBB NAPA CARFAX price estimate of $15000. Low mileage under 100k miles. Can tow a small lightweight trailer as it's a 1/2 ton truck. Larger trucks in 3/4 ton and older want $20000 to start and have hidden problems. Know that many have found lottery ticket (lucky find rare deal) when looking for an old ancient truck, but that is not easy. Trucks are so damn popular.

Then started looking at discussions more closely in national highway safety website. Plus looking at what Toyota discussion groups say.

Toyota Tundra has a frame rust issue for older model. Have not bought my truck yet. But will have my mechanic inspect the frame for rust symptoms. National limited recall was for northern salted roads states. Always something.

Yes, they did.
Behind our dealer was a pile of new frames for years!

Pull a CarFax on the truck, where did it "grow up"?

south carolina.  so likely no issues.  wow on the pile of frames the dealer had.  talk about hiding the issue at the dealership.

Honestly I give Toyota praise for making the repairs!
This recall went back into trucks made in the 1990's!

My 95 was included in the recall. Not done (for other reasons) but included.
