GMC Classic 1978

I have always loved the Classic GMC RVs.
Is it a practical RV for a women solo.
Total rebuild and reliable.  AND VERY reasonably priced.

LONG list of rebuild. Owner is finished with rebuild.
Below are some of the upgrades we have done. Most of the mechanical work has been done with in the last 5000 miles

Also comes with Keith Vasilek's new auto leveling system, but I haven't had time to install it.

There are or were some really good web sites of owners and all the improvements they had to do to keep them going down the road. It seemed if I remember right brakes and keeping the transmission cool because of the loads they put in them when fulltiming were some of the issues. It seemed to me most got tired of making improvements or maintaining them if they fulltimed in them so sold them to a cult follower that only used them on weekends or for RV shows.

Lots of good upgrades. I had one. Doesn't matter how much you pay for it, in the end when it is all done and good, you's have $30K into it.

That fuel injection system may be something to be concerned about. Not many people can work one the Aftermarket stuff... I know of this coach, and the price is decent for all the goodies, but plan to have about $5K set aside just in case. They do drive nice.

A 455 engine is great if you need to tow something heavy, but it will pass everything except a gas station. I am thinking maybe 10 miles per gallon if you are lucky, maybe as little as 6 miles per gallon. There are a lot of other parts to a vehicle besides the engine. Servicing a transmission is not the same as rebuilding it. You didn't say how long it was, or what length that you really need.

GMC's are 23 and 26 ft. This is a 26. Some have been stretched to 39, 32, etc. one was shortened to 21 and a jacuzzi tub was installed (Not kidding). They are Narrow as MoHo's go. You can burn out all the way across an intersection and cruise at 90MPH all day long in them. They are fun, but they are a hobby, constant project, and not for the non-mechanically inclined or faint of heart.
