van.jpg This site seems like a perfect fit for me. I joined an rv site but most everybody had mega motorhomes. I found a van site and a member referred me here. I am a workamper currently in the poconos. I have a 28 foot older travel trailer that I live in and a 1987 high top van that I'm in the process of converting into a camper. I share my rv with three Poodles, two 6 pound Toy sized and a 60 pound Standard sized. I'm bucket list age and look forward to taking that long awaited cross country trip when I get the van finished. I work as rec director in season and have a maintenance job at a nearby ski resort to get me through this long winter. I look forward to getting to know you. Kathleen

Welcome Kathleen...................I know the feeling of the RV forums with people with deep pockets that seem to look down on the working class!

hopefully you will find what you seek here.....I also workamp and am up in NH right now waiting for the snow to melt!!

see you out there soon!!!

:D so your freezing your butt off like me lol. I am in the Poconos too. I will be moving to WA in a few weeks.

Welcome to the site and stay warm.

Welcome Kathleen, from a couple more Pennsylvanians. We avoid the winter as much as possible - staying warm down in sunny Florida right now. You probably have some good tips for all of the other winter RVers and van dwellers.

Thanks for all the welcoming comments. Believe it or not, I spent the first 40 years of my life in Florida. I'd never even seen snow when I moved to NY in 2001. I love it and can't imagine living again in a place without change of seasons. Where in NH are you Mike? I workamped in Tamworth a year ago. It was 15 below when I headed to PA for milder winters LOL. I do love my job here but really look forward to getting the van fixed up and doing some traveling again. It was a former ice cream truck and has only 60,000 original miles. I was a dog groomer for 30 years so I set up the rear for grooming but the built in tub, hot water heater, and water tanks can be used for camping as well. I have a 32" x 80" sofa/ bed in there already but need to add a few things to make life easier. I won't be stealth camping as a rule but the occasional Walmart or truck stop is not out of the question. Alaska is a dream of mine but not in the winter. I'm not that brave.

Well if you were in Tamworth you Know where Beaver Hollow is......Im south now, down near Exeter/Portmouth area......Got caught up in the virus from exeter hospital and am finishing up treatment and then Im out of here!!!

I'll catch you out here!!.....good forum here for pointers!
