New update : things are going much better than I expected, largely because through sheer dumb luck I hired the best divorce lawyer in town. I'm getting temporary support plus a chunk up front, which has enabled me to get an apartment in Flagstaff. Unfortunately I've only been able to move partly in, since I've been down with an infected tooth involving some of the worst pain I've ever experienced! But I've got meds and an appointment in Los Algodones, so that should be all right soon.
The move to Flagstaff is temporary. I expect to be there a year to a year and a half. Boy, getting an apartment isn't like in the old days. My lease was 20 pages! And all the picky rules! My last apartment was in 1979 when things were a lot simpler. Life in a van or camper is looking really good right now! With a year and a half to make decisions and plans, I expect I can come up with a rig and an income. In the meantime, I've learned a lot from CRVL videos, tiny house videos, & the RTR about downsizing, simplifying, and organizing, so I know I can set up my teensy apartment where it will work for me and my son and my dogs.
P. S. I'm 3/4 of the way to having my TESOL certificate!
