The latch that locks the blade open on my knife broke so I looked into the warranty. I didn't need to return the knife just sent a picture and got my replacement today after about a month. They said upfront with a confirmation email that they were running behind because of the pandemic.

I am very pleased with my treatment by Fiskars (parent company of Gerber Knives). Would anyone care to comment on their experiences with warranty issues with other companies, good or bad?

I used to love the Sears Craftsman tool warranty but I read recently you now have to show a receipt so I guess I’ll have to buy a screwdriver set in order to turn in the 5 or 6 damaged screwdrivers in my tool box for exchange.

Another one for Fiskars. We had a pair of orange handle scissors that we used and abused for years until they broke. When I went to replace them I saw that they have a lifetime warranty. Just like with Guy, all they wanted was a photograph. We needed to finish a project so I bought another pair and gave the replacement pair to a friend.

I've collected a few times on the Craftsman tool warranty. The last time was a few years ago and no receipt was required but they did record the #'s that were on a ratchet.

Years ago I bought a used Toyota with tires on it that were just fair. I went into a Big O tire store to have the front tires rotated to the rear. It was wintertime and the fronts had better tread. The manager said there was no charge because the tires were Big O tires. No receipt required.

I like Home Depot's Husky brand tools. If one breaks just take it in and replace. I brought in a Torx bit socket the other day and walked out with a new one. I bought the socket like 15 years ago.
I'll only buy Husky because of this, and Home Depot's are all over the place.

Good to know about Gerber, didn't know their a child company of Fiskar. Only buy Fiskar scissors, good quality and keep their sharpness. My main pair I've had for 10 years, cloth scissors but despite cutting pecan and various other materials, they still slice right through paper.

I have spent good money on some very good knives in my life. And lost every one of them. So you folks that were lucky enough to find a high-quality knife laying along the trail somewhere you can thank me. Can’t take a picture of one you lost and use the warranty.
