As some or most of you know, Ford will stop making the Econoline vans and are replacing it with the Ford Transit. I just read about it on Truck Trend's website. There will be a couple of wheelbases to choose from along with 3 different heights. The engines will be a V6 and a 5 cyl diesel. Looks pretty interesting for turning into an awesome camper.

http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/van/163_1212_2014_ford_transit_first_look/index.html

Seems like their answer to a sprinter, i wonder what the mileage will be. The connect has great mileage but its much smaller, almost like a scion.

That's what I was thinking too, very similar to a Sprinter. The site said it should get 25 percent better mileage than the Econoline so that should put it up into the lower to mid 20s.

Bet it costs more than the E series vans... A lot more.

I had read in another article that the E series will be made through out the end of the decade. The new van looks a lot like the dodge sprinter van. I am curious to know how well these types of vans do ''off road''.
