On the Amazon.com website, you simply use the main search box. To find free books just type in the words "Free Kindle ebooks" before your subject word. I have noticed they now slip in some that are free only if you join the Kindle readers club (which costs money). So you DO have to double check that the actual Kindle book is free. But this allows you to find books if you have a specific subject you need at a certain time.

Yeah, I do the search for the free books, but I don't really have specific subjects I'm looking for---thanks for that idea. :D I'll have to see if it works to use "nonfiction" to eliminate the plethora of romance novels that I end up having to scroll through to find subjects I might be interested in.

So, on the subject of ebooks---can a person transfer a kindle library from one computer to another? At the rate I'm going I'm going to need a separate hard drive for books. :p

"...Tossing a few mentionables into the car, along with his golden retriever, Churchill, his now only trustworthy lifelong companion, Aaron embarks on an odyssey like no other. With his own music as a backdrop, while guzzling his favorite 'Newman's Own Virgin Lemonade', Aaron begins in Youngstown, Ohio, travels Interstate 80 in Pennslyvania, and continues into Gettysburg, Pa., Boston, Ma., Roswell, NM., to name a few, ultimately ending his road trip in scenic Niagara Falls.

Along the way, he continues to embrace each moment, every situation, all relationships and brief encounters. Never losing his zest for life, Aaron stays positive, upbeat and open for adventures, not letting his 'ex-wife-to-be' interfere with his new found freedom, while at the same time rediscovering and recreating bonds that will never be broken. The game of Jinx has never gotten so much attention; what that means the reader is soon to discover."

You can go to your Amazon account, click on manage your content and devices. From there click on the box, next to the title and there will be options. You can transfer by downloading via a USB cable or click on deliver and choose another device (this device needs to be pre registered)

On non-Kindle devices, all you have to do is download the free app and use it to log onto your Amazon account and all your books will be available on that device, no need to transfer them.

I believe you are allowed to use three devices.

Thanks Cyndi. Got the bug out bag ebook. I'll read it at some point, it will definitely go in front of the fiction stuff.
