While living In SD I often visited Freeman to shop..I spoke to someone at city hall a few months ago and was told that the town does still offer free camping at a small local park. Iv'e been there with some of the grandkids and it's nice and quite. Open Usually from May thru October depending on the weather.
Freeman SD is straight north out of Yankton SD & west bound out of Sioux Falls SD. I'm bad about Hiway Numbers so you have to look them up.....And I've owned 2 homes there! I did have a little trouble after I bought the first house........my son and I arrived on Sunday and saw the house ,signed the contract on Monday & headed back to TX on Tuesday.....I had been in touch with the sellers for 1yr before going up there so it was pretty much a done deal.
Next year we load up a 1969 pickup....hooked up a flat bed trailer...loaded his motorcycle, AC's ,tools etc. and away we went........somewhere in KS I discovered that Hurley SD wasn't in the Atlas I had with me. Boy howdy the truckers I was running with gave me hell for 400 miles I guess not everyone buys a house a 1,000 miles away and then can't find it again! Texas Jbird
