Hello all, first time on the forum.  Can someone please point me to a comprehensive list of the dimensions of Ford Transits in the US?  Looking around online I am overwhelmed by 2018 models and scarce info for the relevant details, especially for previous years, which would be more in my price range (up to ~$10,000-$12,000). Mainly I need to know which models I could stand up in (I'm 5'9").  Also it would be nice to know the interior lengths so that I can think clearly about how I would do the conversion inside.

As for the outside, I'm interested in a vehicle that is no more than ~100" tall and around 18-19 feet long. I was able to determine that the tallest Transit out there is taller than I would like.  (Drive-thrus are nice, and also, I'll likely ship it to South America at some point--the shipping containers can accomodate up to 101" tall before you have to upgrade to a larger, more expensive container.  If I had to, I would temporarily remove the vent bubble for shipping.)

After looking around online I'm still just as confused as ever about whether the Wagon version of the Transit would be tall enough for me to stand up inside.

Thanks for any info!

Here is an illustration of the inside dimensions of the 2018 Transit cargo van. I recently visited the Ford delaership and found that i can stand up in the mid-roof version - i am 5’9” - with a half inch or so to spare. I believe these dimensions are the same for models dating back to 2014 but you’ll have to check on that to be certain.

Thanks for the replies. That is encouraging that you could stand in the mid-size and we are the same height.

I'm 5'8" and recently went to the Ford dealership for the same reason.. I can stand up in the mid-roof, but that doesn't leave much room for a sub-floor and insulation and paneling. The high-roof gives a bit more room, but seriously, I wished it was even higher. Well, it is what it is. I'm planning to purchase the high-roof, extended-length ... the extra length will be for a bathroom and storage.

Yeah, so last night my main concern was dimensions. But after looking around online at what used models are available and at what price, my concern has shifted to the scarcity of high top transits in my price range. I could afford the smaller Connect, and so am wondering about the feasability of adding a high top to it. To that end I started a new post.

mid roof transit is 6 foot 3 inch inside
high roof transit is 6 foot 9 inches inside

Transit Connect is a completely different much smaller van

ALL years of the large transit van are the Same inside
Nothing has changed year to year

The "wagon" version of the Transit indicates the passenger version, available in low, medium and high roof.
I'm 5'9" -ish and can walk around freely in my mid-sized Transit.
