Is there an earthroamer that isn't? Too big to go to a lot of places I go but would open up new places I wouldn't even dream of going, even in a jeep.

If I owned a rig like that I would sell it and life the rest of my life comfortably in a simple self built van conversion.

I would have a hard time getting that in the garage at work. I also think stealth parking in a bar parking lot might be out of the question, but I doubt you would get towed away.

Paint it matte black like some kind of SWAT vehicle and no one will mess with you.

Well that solves that issue, now the issue that I am about 1,200,000 short of having 900,000 to buy it.

Around Baja and south America, we see converted Euro-military rigs like this.

The off-road capabilities are generally wasted, because if they stick the thing, they need the local military to drag them back to pavement.

2003, we converted a 1997 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle.
We are 2x4, our drive-axle has an air-locker.
We usually caravan, so if one of us manages to stick, somebody else can drag us out.

PS:
Based on my experience, skills are handier than stuff.
To acquire skills, join a caravan... observe, politely question, offer to help.
