Hi all!! Patrick here from the beautiful Oregon Coastline.<BR><BR>I'm a self-employed graphic artist/inventor/fabricator, and have lived on the road and traveled throughout the US for many years.&nbsp;<BR>I traveled to motorcycle runs for a number of years,&nbsp;doing pinstriping and airbrushing, and am now building up a new business I reciently acquired from a friend who retired, which will allow and pay me to travel again for my living...so I'm very excited about that!!<BR><BR>My shop is called Artworks-Unlimited, and even though it's mostly a graphics shop, I build custom motorcycles and hot-rods as well.<BR><BR>some of the crazy things I've built throught the years&nbsp;are...<BR>&nbsp;my 100.3 ci. EVO/TC hybred chopper...(my current sled) <BR><BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 561px; HEIGHT: 403px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/551049_473903432626266_1726042379_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>I built this Kawasaki&nbsp;Z-1 missle/chopper a few years ago (crazy fast!!!!)...<BR><BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 317px; HEIGHT: 265px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://sphotos-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/184258_206325662717379_5630888_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>I had to build my wife's dream car for her, a '72 Camaro 'SS'...<BR><P align=center><IMG class=bbc_img src="http://www.artworks-unlimited.com/camaro/full side pass.jpg" rel="lightbox"></P>my 1950 Chebby Panel Hot-Rod&nbsp;Shop Truck...(sold it a year ago to a guy in Amsterdam, Holland!!!) <IMG class="emoticon bbc_img" src="/images/boards/smilies/eek.gif"><BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 561px; HEIGHT: 374px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/33579_164305573586055_6411356_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR><BR>and of course.....my 1961 Peterbilt 351 Hot-Rod!!...<BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 457px; HEIGHT: 500px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/190718_206728496010429_2972444_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>I'm taking my Peterbilt Hot-Rod to a truck show in 2 weeks, and I'm planning on selling it there.<BR><BR>then, I'm going to finally restore my wife's 1963 Aladdin Canned-Ham camper...<BR><BR><A id=lightboxlink0 href="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1889578&amp;d=1363467147" rel=nofollow target=_blank><IMG style="BORDER-BOTTOM: black 0px solid; BORDER-LEFT: black 4px solid; BORDER-TOP: black 4px solid; BORDER-RIGHT: black 4px solid" id=lightboximg0 class=bbc_img alt="" src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1889578&amp;d=1363467147"></A><BR><BR>and then it's time for me to pick up my 7th Stepvan!!! This will become the platform for my traveling business, and will be a combination camper/shop truck...much like my old one...<BR><IMG class=bbc_img src="http://files.websitetoolbox.com/82529/1600336" rel="lightbox"><BR>(if I ever had a rig that I should NOT have sold...it was this one!! ^^^)<BR><BR>I lived in a stepvan many years ago, and they're still my favorite rig to own and drive. <IMG class="emoticon bbc_img" src="/images/boards/smilies/love.gif"><BR><BR>this is a great forum! Really glad to have found it, grateful to be here, and hope I can contribute at least half as much as I've gained.

Welcome Patrick, From a fellow old school sign painter, airbrush, a little striping. I like the stepvans too, excelent shop trucks. Duane&nbsp;

Oh, I can't wait to see the restoration of the vintage trailer! I've been seeing lots of good deals (at least I think they're good deals) on vintage travel trailers on my local craigslist listings.

Welcome!!

Welcome aboard! I do like those stepper vans.......

Duane, I've just gotta share this absolutely cool-ass stepvan that a signpainter friend of mine owns and built.<BR>It's his version of a cartoon, rat-rod, tribute old school sign shop truck...with a twist...<BR><BR><BR><IMG class=bbc_img alt=OSP4 src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178784" rel="lightbox"><IMG class=bbc_img alt=OSP5 src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178785" rel="lightbox"><BR>&nbsp;<BR><BR>and inside..<BR><BR><IMG class=bbc_img alt="homage to an old sign painter" src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178793" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR><IMG class=bbc_img alt="the dash is like a mini museum..." src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178791" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>but.......<BR><BR><BR>it's completely hot-rodded, air bagged, <BR><BR>and it opens up into a full on party lounge!!!...<BR><IMG class=bbc_img alt="watch the game, race, whatever..." src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178788" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR><IMG class=bbc_img alt="maybe burn some meat.." src="http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=16459&amp;pictureid=178790" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>that's how to do it right!!!

I'm such a nut for cool old panel trucks, woodies,&nbsp;and stepvans, that I've gotta share a breathtaking example from another sign painter, gold leaf, glass master&nbsp;friend from the UK...<BR><BR>I think it's a Holden...<BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 561px; HEIGHT: 421px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/164029_488602322308_4825315_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>this is his hand carved and gold leafed LADDER RACK!!!...<BR><IMG style="WIDTH: 561px; HEIGHT: 421px" class="spotlight bbc_img" alt="" src="https://sphotos-a-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/168488_488602082308_793101_n.jpg" rel="lightbox"><BR><BR>UGH!!!!! That lousy buggar took most of&nbsp;the&nbsp;pics of his truck down, and I can't find 'em!!!<BR><BR>well....you can get a taste of how breathtakingly beautiful this thing is.<BR><BR>I'll keep digging.....I promise!! <img src="/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">

Cool shop truck! That took a lot of time, all that carving and gold work. I'd like to see a computer signman do that. that's not vinyl gold there. Duane

Hey Signman.....<BR><BR>were you able to see the stepvan I posted above??? I don't know what happened to my pics???<BR><BR><BR>as for David's Holden....yeah, no vinyl was harmed in the making of that rolling piece of art!! I can't stand vinyl!!! (other than for paint masks)<BR>....and I'm completely dissatisfied with 1-shot anymore (since they took the lead out....now it sucks!!) <IMG class="emoticon bbc_img" src="/images/boards/smilies/mad.gif"><BR><BR>I miss my old 1-shot. <IMG class="emoticon bbc_img" src="/images/boards/smilies/bawl.gif"><BR><BR><BR>this is partially why I'm moving on to a different business now, and it's one that's based on hand-crafted artwork...so I'm stoked about that!! (I'll tell ya more as tyme moves on....which it will!)

Hi Patrick, &nbsp;I didn't see the stepvan. Your right about the 1-shot, haven't done much signwork lately, computer guys do it too cheap, not going to compete on price, been painting houses, pay not as good, but I get by. &nbsp;Duane &nbsp;

there.....try that stepvan again....ain't it groovy??!! <IMG class="emoticon bbc_img" src="/images/boards/smilies/cool.gif">
