Finally got my old dodge, Lucy Blue

I finally got her here. I had trouble getting a ride, but finally got it worked out. I will post pics tomorrow. I think she is a gem. I started looking a little closer in the cabinets. First thing i discovered is the owners manual. Thats a relief. Second thing I discovered was the original 12 volt coffee maker, hot pot and some other cook ware. All appear to be in great shape. I have a bit more to do to her before i make the trip back home in november. But I get to sleep in a comfortable and safe new home tonight. Finally, I am a van dweller!

Congrats! I was quite shocked to find the original Owner's Manual in my new-to-me 1988 E150 Conversion Van too. I had already sourced the manual for my older 1986 E150, but it ain't cheap!

You and I both now embark upon the 'spruce up and service/repair' phase of our vans, then decide what to mod and add to them. This is the best forum I have found for that.

I have allready put 4 new tires, a new starter, a new thermostat on her in addition to a tune up, fluid change and some other thing. The mechanic said he knows the people that bought the van new. I guess she sat in a barn for at least 10 years when the original owners got too old to travel. The idle speed needs adjusted, and she is lacking in power a bit. I need to have her checked out again after I have driven her a bit.

Check the wipers, lights, horn, etc. Mine has issues with the light switch and a non-functional wiper switch - luckily I have both in the older van functional - so I'll be 'switching' them over..... ;-)
