Been making headway to getting the custom cabinets built.....

These will hold my equipment and materials I need to ....

Make signs, banners, license plates, vehicle lettering, custom T-shirts, sand etching on glass, chrome, plexiglas, designs and more

I started making the shells of the 4 modular sections on one side of the Toy Hauler after removing one of the couch/beds

I'm trying to keep everything light weight, yet pretty strong and durable

I have never built a set of cabinets in my life and this is a learning experience needless to say

I hope the professional cabinet builders don't cringe to much LOL

This is the first of 4 modules that I will be building.... this will hold "HD" food container and a small trash can
module 1.jpg

this cabinet is in place and will be the same depth as the original stove/sink cabinet

Close enough for me

This is module 4 closest to the back door.... will add the backing to square it up and then install it

In position, now I can get an accurate measurement between the cabinets

The last module in the garage ready to install ( dark because its back lit)

starting the first face frame along the base

Finished Face Frame.... yeah!!!! now on to the very simplistic doors...

Will start the doors and my Murphy Table.... which will be in the center..... 25.5 inches wide by 86" long this will be
my work table....

the bottom doors (6) when opened will support the Murphy table

Looking good!  I really like your idea for a traveling home/shop...

For the black tank sensor issue, I've had similar problems with some sensors repeatedly acting up.  When we group camp and people flush a bunch of toilet tissue it starts acting up again.  I use the thin camping tissue but it still sticks up the works.  The best remedy I've used is the Thetford Tank Blaster enzyme cleaner packs.  I dump the tanks then top up full of plain water, drop in a pack and let it sit between trips (like a month or two).  I dump before the next trip and it seems to work better than half the time.  My 3/4 black water sensor is usually the buggy one.  I wouldn't use the blaster as a regular treatment because it smells different and it doesn't deodorize like the regular packs.  Walex has a product similar blaster that works the same way.  For regular use I buy the green bag Walex Bio Pac drop ins for both the grey and black tanks.  It lasts for a good week or two even with heavy use and seems to keep the sensors from fouling.  Worst case, since you're going to RTR, there was a guy last year in Quartzite that would come around for a small fee and use a pressure washer to get the tanks back in proper order.

Those shelves look awesome.  Look sturdy and wee thought out.  Can't wait to see more.

thanks,  just added my Murphy table and locks... first time I have ever done cabinets..  A few mistakes, but nothing catastrophic  :)

Got to work on my work table (murphy table)... figured out the size, figured out how to secure it and next is to figure out how to support it..  My original idea to use the bottom cabinet doors to support the table has changed.... I am going to go for much lighter doors and 4 support legs for the table..

I think that 8 solid 3/4" doors would be pretty heavy... so will use 3/4" frame and 1/4" centers

next is figuring out how to affix the legs, most likely removable and where to store them...

then build the doors/cabinet covers, maybe not a door per se

Nope.. never built cabinets before... put up shelves... but watched a few vids and dove in ::) there are mistakes here and there... but nothing I need to change...

But I did go through 2 small cans of filler :)

Looks good; seems like the doors on the lower unit would work for supports for table.  Maybe a grooved board on the bottom of the table might help stiffen the table and keep the doors from moving around while table is down.  I'm waiting to see how long before you round off those corners of the desk.

If you made trim on the door you could hinge it and have folding legs.

That was the original plan... but things are getting a little extra weight, so decided to just to make light weight doors and just use 4 - 2x4's for support...

More progress......

along the idea of using 2x4 legs... I put some 1x2's along the underside of the murphy table.. this was just to index the legs for maximum support.

This was my "HIGH TECH" spacing device to keep the runner the same distance apart....gotta do what you gotta do..

This how I supported the table when putting it in and measuring for the lets - a couple saw horses and spacers :)

cabinets are done ..... Yeah!  all hinges, clasps, handles.... I will probably brush on some sanding sealer to keep them from absorbing moisture...  and paint them at a later date....

Im on my laptop so no pics on this ..... when I get back to my desktop will post final pics....

will be moving into my THer thursday or friday, depending on the weather.... got about 95% of my stuff loaded into it... just
a few more things,  my vinyl cutter, a few clothes, a few rolls of vinyl, my memory foam mattress (to be cut down to RV Queen size) and then I can get on replacing the miss matched tires, installing my 5th wheel in my tow vehicle and a few other things and then ready for the road....

don't know how far I will make it with an unproven Tow Vehicle and THer that's new to me, but not so new (2006), have a good sized emergency fund, so hope that will get me to Port O Connor Texas where my sister lives  :} and then out to the south west...

I'm a newbie... at an old age.. so this step is a little scary.... I just have to take it one day at a time

will need all the luck I can muster

I really love your Murphy table.

All those cubbies are an organizers delight. :)

Thanks... I'm sure I will be adding a few more shelves and I have an idea for an adjustable stop bar to keep the large rolls of vinyl from falling over while traveling

take it slow and easy, don't be in a hurry and you will be fine. congrats and safe travels. highdesertranger
