The leatherman "Wave". Aprox $70 at home depot, 17 tools, stainless steel, and they honor their 25 yr warranty. I once broke a jaw on the pliers portion turning a 3/4" nut ( Definatly my fault) and it was fixed and sent back to me, free of charge. Helpful for pulling splinters or automotive repairs, I wear mine everywhere except the shower, bed and where illegal ( courthouse, airplane, etc.
). The only time I have been unhappy with it is when I lost it and had to get a cheap knockoff to get me bye until I could afford another.

I love my Leatherman Skeletool. Sharp blade, strong pliers and a few screwdriver bits. It has a built in carabiner and a bottle opener. This is always kept in a handy spot.<div>Amos</div>

Fab, this is the sort of stuff I'm talking about. Thread inspired because I was looking at shovel/ saw combinations earlier.<br>

Cherry. The saw shovel combos for the most part are garbage. A solid surplus E-Tool makes a great shovel and a folding sierra saw works great. Ebay and Amazon are full kits with a handle and a shovel head and a saw head and a.....blah blah. They are mostly thin plate steel and will not last (or work to begin with). &nbsp;Get a good ol' USA E-Tool for 15 dollars. The cheap sierra type saw they sell at wally world works great too.

My fav, wish I had one right now tool is a Hammer Tool..... I bought the first one as a cheapo and it lasted long enough... works in a pinch tho I wouldn't take it hiking it's a bit too heavy.... good for some basic stuff tho<div><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Multi-2dFunction-Hammer-Tool-2d-Chrome/dp/B000FI67AY" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/Multi-2dFunction-Hammer-Tool-2d-Chrome/dp/B000FI67AY</a></div><div>&nbsp;(never saw the plyers ones before I googled this item....hmmm hey these probly arent for engine work)</div>

Only drawback is the price but well worth it and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Just don't lose it <img src="/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-size: small; "><br></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: arial, sans-serif; line-height: 16px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-size: small; ">Oh yeah, Les Stroud carries one so it must be good lol.</span></div><div><div><br></div></div>
