I used to have one of those Black & Decker 7V drills that I got back in the late 70's and yes it held well.  After purchasing replacement battery packs several times, I found it cheaper to upgrade my tools to corded and no longer have it.  I didn't have any cordless tools for years afterwards and finally broke down and got a set from Costco a couple of years ago.  This summer I added a leaf blower to the set.  They are green, I can't remember the name but are 20V and much more torque and longer lasting than I remember the old B&D one I had.

My heated vest and gloves work off the motorcycle battery.
