Even if the petition were successful, the new Astro would probably be nothing like the old one. But ya gotta have dreams, right?

I have a 95 Astro conversion van that I've turned into a camper van.  Only has 44K original miles on it.  The van is very reliable and built like a tank. I love it and plan on fulltiming in it this coming year.

I doubt if GM would bring back the Astro.  Not enough profit in it.  And besides that GM's quality has gone to shit.  One of the reasons Astros are still so popular is that they were built back when GM still made somewhat reliable vehicles.  GM accidentally got it right with the Astro in that they had excellent motors and OK transmissions. Astros with high miles are relatively common.  Would I buy a new one-----I doubt it.  I'll keep my 95.

OMG, what an awesome thing that would be. I'd be first in line to dump the 2016 Chrysler Town and Country my wife and I had to settle with because no one made anything that useful. My wife cries every time it snows because the T&C is awful in snow, and so is the 4WD GMC Envoy we have as a beater.

I've personally owned somewhere around 100 vehicles of all brands in my lifetime. I drove many company trucks of different types and brands. I had dozens of full sized vans too and would have loved to try an AWD Chev full size van... perhaps any newer full size chevy van, but by the time I can afford them, the bottom edges are already patched up from rust.

I had 3 or 4 Astros. Loved each and every one..... sold one with 316K that still ran down the road as good as anything I have had. I've always hoped to find another AWD Astro in decent shape around here, but so far, no luck. The AWD, the balance of power... just excellent.

BRING ON THE ASTRO !

Trying to post a photo of my 2001 astro.. not working
anyway I love the Astro, but they have issues!

... I did not know there was a following for these things.  Gray cloth interior was nice and clean (all stock).  Avg MPG per KBB is a bit of a concern.
Last fall I started following the Pan American Highway group on FB and was shocked to see how many of them drive old Astro vans. I never knew why, but figured they are built well since people use them to travel from Alaska to the southern tip of S. America.
