You all know about my lovely van. Those who don't, there are links in my signature!

I am curious if anyone has ever modified an older van to have more external storage like the new vans have. If so how was it done, if not, any idea on reference material I could look into to do it? I want to get more storage outside. Specifically, it would be great to store the house batteries underneath, as well as a few items that don't need to be taken out all the time, but should stay with me.

Your rig is tall already so I don't know if a roof rack would work. Adding some sort of saddlebag thing to the sides wouldn't work or look any better either.

Have you considered pulling a small/med enclosed cargo trailer?

Even without the mechanical aptitude to currently understand all the modifications made to the Sportsmobile systems, it is still a terrific read and reference for future needs.

Very cool, thanks for the link. I saw that some time back, but couldn't recall the site.

@sl1966: I don't know if I want to just yet. It's extra weight that I may not need, and a reason to collect "stuff". lol
