I don't. I think the question is like asking people who live in crappy houses if they feel exploited by the show Property Brothers or people who can only shop at thrift stores if they feel exploited by Fashion Week. One has nothing to do with the other.

I also don't have a problem with people who glamorize vanlife. There is no gatekeeper on this way of life. Some people are forced into it and are living in their vehicles barely able to afford gas. Others choose this way of life and are living their best life. They're both valid. It would be awrsome to have a well off parent - be it mom or dad - who could buy me a built out sprinter van, so I'm not going to hate on anyone who has that blessing. They hit the DNA lottery. Good for them.

It's difficult to try and dance within the different socio-economic circles without stepping on someones toes. There are people living the mobile lifestyle who are affluent yet want people to think they're poor.

You asked what we thought and I told you what I think. If you hadn't asked, I wouldn't have told you so I'm not sure why you're getting snippety but I'm sure you have your reasons. I get a post deleted bc I stated the the migratory patterns of certain humans are not driven by ’better life’ but by ‘threat avoidance’. It’s not warmer weather driven, but run away from the fire. Worded differently, but absolutely my point.

In my own view, Nomads are no different than any other lifestyle choice. There are those such as writers, artist, photographers, and commentators etc who exploit opportunities by their very nature.
In their better manner they provide enlightening views and insights for those who aren't around the others who live different life styles. (consider: Life, Look, and Post magazines of the past that didn't lead people's opinion's. Then look at the Tabloids by comparison)

In their less noble manner they may editorialize focusing on the negative or absurdly positive of a story. At the very worst they can just be dismissive, indifferent or accusatory of those they focus on and exploit.

Remember, it is they who prostitute their ethics. Whether it's some poor soul scraping by in a rig or a "Ward & June Cleaver....Wally & the "Beaver" family", living the dream in the suburb's, if they are content with their life then it isn't their problem. It's those with the motive to deliberately choose to exploit them who are the problem and hide behind freedom of speech and the cop-out that it's just "entertainment" after all. What a rush of blood pressure that gives so many now days.

Just today 1/4/23 a New England Governor announced that his state will implement studies to teach school kids to spot fake/biased news stories. But this has been going on in other states already.
