I went to the event in Wellington and had some good and some not-so-good experiences. Mainly I attended because it was close by, and I chose the overflow camping/boondocking area and it was only $30 for 4 days.

When they announced another event in the same place for 2019, I was amazed.

Wellington Texas has little to offer, other than it being somewhat close to I-40 so it's accessible to cross-country travelers, and of course, it was probably pretty cheap to host it there.

I think the effort was genuine, but the reality is that it was so far removed (physically and socially) from mainstream vehicle dwellers that it was just not on most nomad's 'radar'...so to speak.

Their reach apparently exceeded their grasp, but many of us have had that same experience.
