But it's all definitely going that way.

Increasing the number of countries and states/provinces that mandate an electric-vehicles only deadline will help accelerate things, but as alternative power generation continues to get cheaper than petroleum it's an inevitable trend.

I rode an electric motorcycle that a friend bought ... it was manufactured by Zero. It had elbow wrenching torque, had no clutch and no shifter (which took getting used to), made almost no noise and had a range of about 50 miles out and back .. about 100 miles one way. It was fun to ride. But, honestly, I don't think I'd get one just yet. Maybe in 10 years when battery technology or "re-fueling" infrastructure has settled into place ... ?

Personally, I'd like to see us go to hydrogen from solar dissociated water. One should be able to convert existing vehicles (just as done for propane) to run off the universe's most abundant gas. But, that could end up being free, and we can't have that now, can we?

Still, cool looking little bus, and I dig the nod to surfing in their marketing. :)

Hydrogen is just a portable medium for storing electricity.

From the looks of it, probably $45K to start.....

Electric is inevitable. We just need a robust charging infrastructure first (think Tesla Superchargers everywhere with even faster charging than possible today). In many ways, they're much simpler and easier to work on because there are so few parts, just a motor or two (or four?), a big battery, and a power controller.

This one, in particular, seems a bit like vaporware, but electric vans are inevitable I think, especially for city use with low speeds and little power use when stuck in traffic.
