Hello

I have seen videos with 2 burner propane cooktops with a glass cover which is flush with the countertop, but I have not been able to find any on the internet, nor did any of the videos I watched say where they got them/what the name was.

If anyone knows of a product like this, I would appreciate hearing about it. (I have commented on the videos I saw with these with no response, so please don't say ask the poster, I kindly ask.)

Thanks

This one?

That's very similar to the one in my trailer, its a drop-in Suburban 2 burner cooktop.

Works well enough, but I had a couple of minor nit-pics:

I had to remove the glass from the hinges and slightly bend them rear-ward with a pair of pliers, then replace the glass, so that the glass would be leaning farther away from the heat when cooking. Seems like no biggie, until, stepping in or out of the trailer, the lid falls over on your hot saucepan and causes it to slide forward and spill contents onto the burner flames!

And, when in the flat or down position, the glass actually touches the tops of the knobs, so it rattles when going down the road. Might be noticeable in a van or motorhome, but of course wont be noticeable (from the tow vehicle) when installed in a trailer. I just put a rag or cloth on the tops of the knobs to cushion and protect the knobs and glass.

Thanks to both of you. That one looks close to what I saw, but those issues mentioned seem troublesome. Maybe I should just give up the idea of having one with a cover, but I do like that it would give more counterspace with the attached lid.

In the picture above, the glass shows to be leaning backwards a bit, but on mine, the glass was ~90 degrees vertical when lifted, not leaning back at an angle. Maybe the brackets were just bent incorrectly on mine, I dunno, but I bent them slightly and this 'fixed' that issue.

Another advantage (besides counter space) of the drop-in cooktop is that it means the distance between the burners (and the hot food or liquids in pots or pans) are a few inches farther from an overhead cabinet, if that matters in your build. Also, the glass lid helps shield the counter back-splash area from spatters and spills.

I have a regular built in RV two burner that sits a little above the countertop. I put my cutting board on top of it for more counter space while preparing to cook. I also have a board that pulls out just above a drawer that the drawer supports and holds it in when the drawer is shut. I have thought about getting a cover for the sink but I haven't as this seems to give enough counter space for me. There is always the dining table nearby to put stuff on too if needed.
