To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

if you have the guts, contact the local county human services operation. There is all kinds of help for disabled people (like me). or do a google search. lots of nonprofits want to help disabled live better. Search and call. If you are unable to work, contact a social security disability layer (no cost to you). use martindale hubbel website to find one. Also greatest free resource around is the reference librarian at your local library. Pay a personal visit, explain your need, charm them, and they'll help you find what you need for free. But you have to take massive action

Hello and welcome. I was just in San Diego last month. Beautiful city!

Here are a few links that might help.

First, the charity associated with this site: Homes on Wheels Alliance
https://homesonwheelsalliance.org/

Second, a charity that gives cars/vehicles to people:

thanks for the response. San Diego is beautiful and i have spent most of my life here but it is getting too expensive to live here. $5+ a gallon in gas an renting a room in a bad area is $600/month if you are lucky.

If you are on disability you should be eligible for federally subsidized housing, which would make your rent payment much lower.

Outside the big cities, these units are often much smaller overall and less densely populated.

Probably a waiting list, but might be an affordable option for you.

You may also be eligible for food stamps.

Good luck.
