I have been working on a way to make good coffee.
Seeings how everyone has THEIR idea of what good coffee tastes like, I know others have different ways.

This one works well for me, and is small, easy to use and clean, and is affordable.
Found something like this- tried it, and the coffee is good, strong, and well flavored.
Tea Infuser

Just figured I'd share.

In many coffee discussions over the years, I have to admit that this is the first time I have seen one of those pots.

Anymore we just use a home style auto drip. I have a small 4 cup 12v for just me and the 12 cup 120Vac version for the both of us.

We used stove top methods before all of the solar and batteries. Heat the water up and pour it into either a Melita cone filter or the basket from a Bunn coffee maker set on the pot.

I also have two Italian espresso makers that work on the stove for those nights you need a little help staying up with the fire.

That actually looks like a very good solution and a quick Google search shows there are ones like it but bigger available.

Here's my current coffee solution, 80oz jar, 2l decanter and nylon strainer bags to filter. I was using a French press last time I posted about coffee(in the big coffee thread) but the filters on French presses seem to wear fast when you're making coffee daily.
I much prefer the taste of cold brew to regular drip coffee or other hot brewing methods.

I recently tried Cold Brew Coffee over ice and found it a little 'too' smooth. I am always looking for new ways to make good coffee. For the last 2 1/2 years I alternate between my French Press and Espresso Pot. The pot being my favorite. 4 shots as a cup of coffee in the morning is perfect. With all this, I was thinking this morning that it would be nice to have a drip coffee maker. I saw one that is made by Coleman and operates with propane. Has anyone seen or tried one? They are pricy...but for a good cup of coffee...it would be worth it.

One of my favorite Coffee's is Cafe Goya, Bold Latin Flavor  "rich dark & smooth". (not an Expresso)

I've learned much at this website below.  The Guy and his wife travel all over the world and their site is an extensive tutorial and review of coffee makers, roasters, cleaning & care products.

I have never tried the Goya coffee.  I will look for it in the grocery.  This is my simple affordable way to get a good cup of coffee for the morning.  Or anytime!  the pot makes 4 cups/shots of espresso and adding a good amount of 1/2 and 1/2....I love my coffee.  I have a french press, but to be honest...good tasting ground coffee is expensive.  Folgers really doesn't cut it.  The french press uses a lot of water to clean and over a period of time...I only use it for making good ground coffee...
My espresso maker is 2 1/2 years old.  The manufacture makes a 6 cup/shot  pot.  That might be nice!

I bought David a "Ready Set Joe" drip set up. He liked it so much that we bought one for our daughter. Paired the plastic cone with a gold mesh filter. David liked to line his with a paper towel because he used a fine grind coffee.

guess I am just a backward old cowboy,  because I just use an old percolator pot.  like this one  http://www.backcountry.com/camp-che...8803241656&mkwid=HKwEJOta_dc|pcrid|3294144246  .  no fufu, no fancy dancy,  just plain old coffee.  highdesertranger

WOW HDR!  28 cups.  I thought I drank a lot of coffee.....
I use a 120 v - 12 cup drip when I can run the generator and a 9 cup percolator on the stove top as backup. The wife drinks one cup and I get the rest

If there is company, a new fresh pot is made while drinking the last pot, but we don't get much company.

I love my coffee press!

I love the smell of coffee brewing. Shame it doesn't taste like it smells. Coffee tastes nasty to me. The one cup was all David ever wanted. Two cups made him edgy and three gave him the shakes.

highdesertranger...not fufu at all! Just a different way to brew...I drink my friend Lesa's cowboy coffee and I would drink your percolated coffee. Percolated coffee was the coffee I grew up on...then came drip...then steam. I like coffee that is steam brewed...Tastes very good and strong. Since I can easily make my self a good tasting cup of coffee with an espresso pot...I do...! I like the taste of coffee and drink it throughout the day...

I'm with CR. I LOVE the way brewing coffe smells, but hate that bitter taste.

Now these lil puppies tastes so good to me...

Most folks can't take 500 mg of caffeine a day, but Ive been this way since a kid. I wish they made a redbull IV, so it can flow into my system faster. Caffeine rocks!

The Monster coffees aren't bad, sugary milk with a hint of coffee and other flavorings like you would get at Starbucks.
Caffeine has no real effect on me so I drink coffee purely for the taste, throughout the day. A side note drinking too much caffeine feels much, much worse than drinking too much alcohol, learning that the hard way wasn't fun.

Since we are talking about coffee, sometimes you don't want it black. No refrigeration coffee creamer, small containers of dairy go bad within days of opening in the summer heat, whey protein while some people like it I felt it ruined the taste of my coffee and was hard to mix in. I was totally opposed to those non dairy creamers that are mostly corn sugar so what I think I've settled on is Nido(powdered whole milk).

there is something about energy drinks, I can't get past the smell. to me they have an industrial/chemical odor. when I worked construction as soon as someone opened one of those I could smell it. highdesertranger

I have the same issues with energy drinks as highdesertranger...With 4 shots of espresso as my morning cup, I get about the same amount of caffeine as an energy drink. I love Nido...I used it for the first year and a half vandwelling. Full cream and great taste. Now I use half and half. I see many people drinking the Latin Roast coffees...they are very affordable and a good taste.

I have been using decaf instant.  I hardly ever drink coffee these  days.  Got out of the habit after I retired.  So occasionally I like something "coffeeish".   My doctor wants me to avoid caffein and I never could stand energy drinks.  Foul stuff....
