So I'm camped at this lovely, quiet place outside of Ashland, WI and locals are kind and give my dog a stuffed bear and all...AND there is a guy parked at the showers in a Van and he is disturbing to the locals...BUT why??? Is it because he is timid and tries to steer the crowd? Is it because he is living in a Van??? Is it because he is a MAN living in a Van???

So I am invited to supper and even to a birthday party and someone has given my dog a stuffed teddy bear - but this guy is trouble...?

Yea, it scares me - because I could be this guy...!

So, I approach this guy and for whatever reason he scares away-

Careful who we judge...

Hmm, I hope you manage to calm/reassure him and see if he will tell his story.

What sort of a place is it, where you are camped?

Nice. Just off a community of good families. Lovely town off US 2 of the UP

Other than the Van-Guy , I'm the only camper, here.

I have to say this dude is shy. Even the camp hosts have warned me, as have a family fishing down at the lake. But - why!

No one knows...

Why does this concern me?

Because this could be me,- If I didn't have a sweet dog and a friendly demeanor...

Maybe he has severe social anxiety. I have a few people in my family who suffer from it, and it is pretty bad sometimes.

Angie, good point. He might just be very uncomfortable around other humans.

Oh, the U.P must be gorgeous this time of year! I love it there. I could live on smoked whitefish and cherries for the rest of my life. In fact, I'm wearing my Munising Tourist Park hoodie right now!
