Spent mid May til 3 Jun
Wish I'd had camera to shoot the wolves that "escorted" the furbys & me on our walks. They made Mr Trav nervous, but were awesome 2 behold.

Wolves in NM? I guess I wasn’t aware!

Yeppers, they be in Cibola. It's fairly isolated.
They'd "escort" us during our early morning & evening walks. Just seemed to be curious. Mr Trav would bark & they'd back off a bit further; Gypsy didn't seem to pay them much mind. I just kept them in the corner of my eyesight. They'd melt away about the time we turned around to walk back to camp.

Were you in the Bluewater State Park area?

I saw a sign near Reserve, New Mexico, complaining the Mexican Gray Wolves were killing "our elk." Um, no, the elk don't belong to you or anyone else.

Slo2day: No, near Corona - off the gravel rd, down those dirt tracks + a couple others, past the cattle tank, around the rock piles ... hi clearance is a wonderful thing lol

Mr Noodly: Exactly!

Yes, yes high clearance is a wonderful thing until you hit a soft spot. When your frame is on the ground and your vehicle has high clearance you got real problems. LOL!!!

Bullfrog: I once did that to an APC & a 5-ton. Let's just say those were l-o-n-g, cold, wet & lonely walks

Unfortunately I have done it many times. This last winter I managed to jack the vehicle up high enough the holes filled with water and froze overnight so I was able to drive out on the ice early the next morning!
