I wish my 94 Caravan CV had that feature. It's just to small before I even get started, so going to go full size. Just waiting for Military retirement to kick in to afford it. I can't believe you got all those tools and stuff in that compartment, good job.

Am presently bunking flat on the floor but intend to have seats removed and build a bed platform. The platform will cover some of the sto n go compartment covers so I will not have access to them. Wish there was some way around this. Using the compartments for storage would be mega handy.

There is a work-around for the bed platform....use piano hinges to make the platform so it can be folded up where needed to allow access to the underfloor storage areas.

Thanks, good idea.
Now just have to figure out the placement of the bed legs.  Was thinking to use cargo straps from the floor seat hooks to hooks on the bed legs to secure the bed for driving. Am hesitant to screw into the plastic van wall as not sure at this point if I will keep the GC or sell it for something a bit more campervan friendly. Just want to get through this coming winter.
Will save the seats so it can go back to being a regular minivan.

nice Uptown you sure fit a lot of stuff in there. I just got to ask, what's in the small Snap On box? highdesertranger

Ancient 1/4" drive set.
To tell you the truth, the box never's worked right. Always closes in on itself.
So I seldom use it.

Was it hard to get the seats out? And what did you do with the seats? I want to do the same thing.

Pretty EZ. Except rust on underbody exposed bolt tips- for northern salt vehicles- arm workout, LoL

Second Row (71lbs ea)
SUPPOSED to take that big, rectangular flashing off (many 10mm socket and little plastic nut covers), and I followed directions,
I don't think you need too, just three 15mm nuts each seat, and there's a ~6" x6" plastic cover between seats you need to snap off regardless.

Rears (62lbs driver's side, 38 lbs passenger's)
11mm socket for plastic flashing nuts, two phillips screws, then four 15mm bolts each seat.

Seat mechanisms have just a bit of spring to them.

Worse is open mechanism for 2nd row seats, I stuck my pinky in there when I first got it, trying to lower a long stuck seat.

Yeouch!

Dumpster? Throw in lake for fish cribbing? Dunno, LoL

Are there directions somewhere? Maybe a video?

I could take pictures, but really just looking at your own seats would be far more informative;
Remove rear flash and you'll see the bolts in question just begging to have a socket put on 'em, LoL.
Second row the three nuts are right there if you open the compartment.

If you really, really want, the second row  I left in would only take 5 min to R&R.

What year is your C van, Maggie?

Great job Uptown and great use of space!

A minivan is too small for me, but the Mopar's SnG system make them the manufacturer of choice if one is going that route.
I've seen people stow the seats and spend a week camping with minimal mods...or a dedicated vanner can mod like you did and pick up valuable space while shedding tons of extra weight.

Thanks! I got rid of some stuff, LoL.

I understand there's variances, this is the 2005-2007.
Late models might be different.

You can take second row out with just loosening the big cover.
(junkyard vehicle, mine's not quite that messy)

First, pop off the 6"x6" plastic cover
20171017_125337.jpg

Here's the three 15mm nuts:
20171017_125432.jpg

loosening cover is 11mm (7/16" is exactly the same) socket
20171017_125849.jpg

then lift it past the cover. No noticeable spring when removed in up position.
There's more plastic covers under that 6"x6" cover that come out with seat.

Rear seats just unbolt.

It is a 2005. I really wonder what everyone does with their seats after taking them out. I see a lot of people try and sell them but cannot see this happening any time soon.

I guess many people have the same idea, so there's a glut of seats and no market.
Tons were made;  lots in junkyards- Adding more 'supply'.

But I don't actually know, that's just my armchair analysis

There's Factory Service Manuals online- I *Think* 2005, if you want to download them.
Mine's an '07, but I use that year as it's close enough.
They tell you absolutely everything about vehicle repair, from where each wire goes, to interior piece removal- and repair of major components.
In detail.
If you bought hard copy, they'd, altogether, probably be about 15" thick, or more

I left one second row seat in- It's very comfortable, but I wonder about removing it, and using passenger's seat-
Moving it back, forth and even outside.
