In a little defense of the new diesel engines from all manufactures. Didn't we all scream a bit when we saw catalytic converters on all new gas engines>? Didn't we all scream a little when more and more emissions controls were being added? I did!
But then again now that all those vehicles are out there I think it has helped with our surrounding air quality.
I would hope to assume that the new diesel engines with DEF etc will also help.
I don't think anyone here can argue that if you happen to follow or stop behind a good ol fashion muscle car that you can SMELL it. In my youth I never thought twice about that but I do today.
I can't say for sure but it sure seems to me that being behind one of today's modern Diesel's I don't smell them like I did before.
Hopefully they get the reliability issue dialed in quickly.
